Robert has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechnical Engineering (Hon) from University of Malawi; Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance (ACCA-UK); and a Member of Institute of Directors for Southern Africa (IoDSA).

Robert worked for the following major International Oil marketing companies for 8 years in Malawi from 1994, that is TOTAL Autre Mer, BP Africa and Mobil Oil Corporation as a Senior manager in Sales, Commercial and Marketing ; Engineering, Logistics & Operations Departments. He was extensively trained in the management/operations of the Downstream and Midstream sectors of the Petrochemical Industry in Africa from the distribution of the refined petroleum products (petrol, diesel & paraffin) to lubricants and specialities. He also managed huge capital projects in retail network and fuel depots expansions.

Robert was also a Lead person in the Consortium which was mandated to carry out the Feasibility study, Construction and Operation of Strategic Fuel Reserves in Malawi and a Fuel Pipeline from Beira.

He then set up his own Oil marketing company in 2005 called Injena Africa in Malawi and then South Africa in 2016 where he is the Chairman and CEO and he provides Business Leadership to the Board and Management.

Sandress Lwazi

Sandress has a BSc Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Malawi and an MSc in Strategic Management from University of Derby. He also has a certificate in Integrated Water Resources Management from SIWI.

He has over 20 years’ experience working for government, semi-government and private sector. He has vast experience in programme and project management, planning and designing especially water services facilities and construction supervision for both water supply systems and wastewater systems. He has also managed water utilities as business units involving strategic planning, financial management and personnel management from different sections including finance, administration and operations and maintenance. He has also done project evaluation and monitoring. He is also a visionary business man.

From December 2013 to February 2019, he has been working for Inhlakanipho Consultants as Regional Manager for Gauteng Province and a key member of the executive team for the company. He has been driving company business development and marketing in the region with tremendous success that the company grew to new levels from a humble beginning. He also has extensive experience in sourcing project finance from funding institutions, donor community and private companies as social contribution for local community development through government institutions.

He is now joining Injena Africa as a Chief Operating Officer (Executive Director) driving company development, ensuring accurate financial information, prudent systems control, and monitoring management performance.

Ntombi started her career as a Trainee State Accountant and rose through the ranks of government until she was Financial Manager for the Extended Public Works Programme. She has over 18 years of corporate experience including corporate governance, project management and financial management. She provided strategic leadership in terms of control, management and assurance of the quality of all training programmes/courses for the company she co-owned in the training sector.

She is currently a Technical Advisor for Tembeka Social Investment Company, a South African-based wholesale development finance organisation owned by Solidarité Internationale pour le Développement et l'Investissement (SIDI) in France . She provides technical advice and support to client companies of Tembeka. She also writes and contribute to country reports on the state of banking and microfinance in South Africa.

Her exposure in research includes working as a consulting rapporteur for the Human Science research council (HSRC) for its research seminars where she acts as Rapporteur. She write research briefs for publication and produces academic reports capturing key decision points from proceedings of the workshop.

Her professional involvement includes the following:

  • Served on the Task Team that was convened by the Public Protector to formulate a Good Governance Agenda for Chapter 9 or institutions that support our constitutional democracy in South Africa.
  • Advisory Board Member- Tshwane University of Technology Department of Credit Management & Entrepreneurship
  • Serves on the Banking and Microfinance Sector Education and Training Authority (BankSETA) panel of experts for the drafting of the Credit Loan Officer Qualification or curriculum

 
Ntombi interest and has done research in Microfinance, access to finance, inclusive banking or financial services as well as skill development.
